I knew that the day would come when I would face an almighty Tiburon, and today was the day(well, night actually). I stop at a traffic light on Rt.22, and next to me pulls a Tiburon with it's underbody lights glowing away. The fart can and stickers, coupled with an airplane wing let me know this was the real deal. As he revved frantically, I slowly brought the RPMs up under the brake in anticipation of our showdown. I see the light for the other direction turn yellow, and prepare myself to get the holeshot on the mighty machine in the other lane. The light turns, and I get about a 1/2 car lead on him right out of the hole. He begins to creep up on me slowly, and we're bumper to bumper. In the 10 seconds it takes us to reach 60, I have stopped his advance and begin to pull ever so slowly on him. I shut it down due to traffic at about 90 MPH with a 3/4 car lead. He drives on by, weaving through the traffic I slowed down for, and nearly clips a car pulling out of a side street. About now reality sets in, and I'm forced to look in my rearview to make sure my payload hadn't shifted. I was in my '87 Chevy fullsize parts hauling truck with a Buick 350 in the bed, thankfully it was strapped in good.
