Goodbye SRT4.....Hello ???

Whats up everyone! I see most of the boys are already here...nice!

We now let me get to the point here. I posted this over on the other site but figured id post it here too cuz I miss you some of you lil' bastids.


Well i've loved the SRT4 but now its time to move on some time next year. I want to go back to where I started and thats RWD. But im undecided on what to get now. I have a few choices in my mind but narrowing it down is getting fustrating sorta. Heres what I got to choose from. Mostly all the cars I listed here I've driven.

1. 03/04 Cobra - Modding this car is quite easy and can get amazing gains! If I were to get this Id probably port out the stock Eaton with other bolt ons or go all out with the Kenne Bell.

2. 3rd gen. RX7 - Since I was a kid I always wanted to have this car. The rotary has amazing potential and this is one of the few imports that actually looks good with a body kit. Also nice cuz you dont see to many driving around. If I were to get this I would work on the porting and cooling system and install a GT35R on it with an autronic EMS.

3. 350Z - This car looks nice and I actually had a chance to go for a ride in a stock one and it felt pretty good. I heard that this car doesnt really respond to well to mods other then F/I. But If I were to get this Id probably keep it N/A for awhile then later on "possibly" go F/I.

4. C5 Corvette - Do I really need to say why? If I were to purchase this Id probably either get a convertible cuz ive always wanted to own a vert in my life and these look beautiful...or if im still felling the need for speed get a Z06.

5. 06/07 GT500 - This would "probably" be the most expensive coming out the gate for me with regarding price(possible dealer markup), Ins., etc. But for the money of a brand new car this cars specs look pretty damm good.


These are the only cars im choosing from so please dont list other choices. Ok boys lets hear what you got to say?

sup bro glad you finally came over. it took like 50 PMs you ****.

id say either 03/04 cobra or wait for the new GT500 to come out. after my wedding next year and i buy my house one of those two cars is gonna be parked in my garage. if the GT500 is out of the question i may just take an 03/04 cobra and have a blast with it. plus my friends planning on getting the GT500 so who knows. i would say corvette but i see so many of them that i almost dont want one because of it. but those cars are amazing regardless... tough choices. oh and im gonna bitch slap you for putting a rx-7 and 350z in with those other choices.
My vote here is the same as in the other thread, go with the 03/04 Cobra.
Ok I can see you laughing at the 350Z.....but a fully built RX7 is NO JOKE! There all great cars in there own way.

yea........ but a fully built rx-7 would get raped by a fully built any other one of those options

Come on man! With someone with knowledge of cars like us you should know what a fully built RX7 is capable of.
But I will say of all the cars on the list that the RX7 would require the most upkeep.
Do you live in the city? If so where do you park? I wouldn't want to be worried about a nice car (GT500) parked on the street anywhere. That's why I bought a neon. :blackmail

Go with one of the used cars and use the money saved for upgrades.
I can park my car in a garage. All the cars on the list will be bought used....unless its the GT500.

the rx7 can be made a fast car, but dollar for mod the cobra will always out do the rx-7. same with any of the other cars being over the rx-7. i choose the lt1 because i know i can make it fast for cheap which is why your probably considering the rx-7. but my lt1 is still just a beater car till i get the wedding out of the way and i get something better. so you should just go all out and get a car you dont have to play catch up with.

yeah dudee as much as i hate mustangs...cobra is yer best bet price/performance.....and wtf? a Gt500 = $$$$$$$....and doesn;t that come out in lik '07? or are you talking an original shelby lol....i like rx7's though...but why not tt supra?

Heres another factor. If I get the C5 vette vert. I wont be doing alot of Performance work to it but make it look nice. If I get the Z06 im going to do alot of work to it.

Damm man having a drop top vette is SOOOO SWEEEEET!
a TT supra is a joke. a single turbo does better than a twin and a 600whp supra runs the same times as a 800whp supra. limitations > supra.

modding a vette is a hard thing to do because everything is a shit load of money. your looking like $500 for an intake and over a grand for exhaust. those machines are more or less worked as it is. which is probably why i see so many stock looking ones................ blowing by me.

Someone said the same thing on the other site. In my area the asking price on a used Supra TT is completely OUTRAGEOUS!!!! Id be better off getting and affording the GT500 then get a used Supra. If you want a used Supra in my area your going to get raped on the price!!

yeah vettes are pretty kewl dude...but think realistically....i guess a price limit is what we need from you bro...how much you wanna spend?

people will be paying well over sticker price for the GT500 man. i remember when the 03 cobra's came out. i went to go look at one and the salesmans like "we already have an offer on this for 4k over the sticker price" and it was their last one. so dont be expecting anything on the price

Yeah the if I get the C5 its either look good and be "quick" in a drop top.....or look nice and be "fast" in a Z06.
