from what i understand about grounding you dont want all the wires to come back to a box like that....and besides it would look ugly having grounding wires all over ur engine bay.

im pretty sure the type you what is called round about or something like that...the premise is you have one ground wire go to another ground and that wire go to another ground creating a grounding chain.

ill see if i can find a picture or better description
Did you ever notice amy's grounding kit pat? sometimes you can't tell...
pat check the one out on moderperformance.com apexi ground system
we got ours from performance autowerks... A nice kit...
ant.. what size wire did they use in their kit.. i keep wanting to copy it.. but i just might rather buy it from them..
i want some details also. sounds like a fun weekend project

Mike they use 8 gauge wires. It’s really nice I don’t know if it makes a difference or not because when I did my grounding I did not see no difference, plus I know many people that have used it and didn’t really see a difference. Is it worth properly I would do it.
well.. i changed one ground to 8 gauge and put an extra one.. i noticed some difference. with the lights dimming and stuff.. i never put the cover over the wires though.. since one was close to the manifold. it turned brownish, guess it burned some.. now my lights dim like stock again.. so it has to do something..
Mikey take a look at the routing on our car and try and give it a shot...

And yes 8 gauge monster wire...
it did make a difference for my car. i have a volt meter built into my turbo timer, so i know how things are running. before the grounding kit the volts would fluctuate between 13.3-14.2. after the kit was installed, it pretty much held steady at around 14.1, with slight fluctuation of maybe 13.9-14.2. i also noticed that the lights would no longer dim when opening a window. it's been good so far.....
Hey Ant...how come 2 years ago when I said I wanted to do that on my car you said its a waste of money and doesn't do anything?? I get it now... keeping the good stuff to yourself huh? :)
You asked if it made any performance gains, and it does not... keeps the power steady and the lights from dimming under load and audio strain, cleans up the idle a bit, not much else...

and I was pretty much against a grounding kit, because it sounded like bs, until Amy bought it... Still doesn't give any horsepower like they claim...
I would have to agree with Ant here. I made my own grounding kit by replacing all of the thin and worthless strap grounds with solid high strand 4G cable. I instantly noticed a smoother idle and a smoother powerband, but no actual power gains. Also, like with Amy, my lights stopped dimming under load.

If you REALLY WANT a grounding kit, here's what you do...

Go down to your local audio shop and purchase about 15ft of 4G wire in your favorite color, and also get some 4G ring terminals that have a 5/16" hole. go home and start replacing all your crappy straps with your nice new 4G. It'll cost you about $20 most likely, depending on who you get the stuff from. If you feel like shopping online, I personally recommend a company called Knu Konceptz, they have great wiring for a great price. Their eKo series wire looks great and is cheap, though its only available in Blue Metallic and Silver Pearl. That stuff in 4G runs i believe 79cents a foot, which is very well priced. actually, i'de say just about everything on their site is very well priced. That's who i used for my entire system, and that's who i use for all of my customers as well when i'm doing installations... Top notch stuff...
