My wife & I are going to Vegas in October with my cousin & his g/f. He's been pressuring the hell out of me to book it now so I'm looking for last minute insight on what's the best decision for us. So far based on price, availability, what's offered & location we narrowed it down to the Flamingo, Planet Hollywood & Harrahs.

I have Flamingo as the top choice for all those reasons but the other two also have nice options. Anyone else have any other recommendations? We're leaving Weds 10/15 and returning Sun 10/19. Sights to see? What to stay away from? Cheaptickets & Orbitz avg about $720/person for hotel & flight.

What we're looking at is we want to be as close into the strip for a fair price. We can't afford the 5 star hotels but we're not gonna jew the trip & stay at a roach motel.

Cool. So far I like that one the best. My cousin likes Planet Hollywood but is leaning towards what I say.

I have a week off the end of August & seeing what I can do that week about coming down. Zory can't get out of work which sucks :(

Because my wife & my cousin's soon to be fiance would be ALL over that idea...

Golden Nugget has one of the best pools, it has a 3 story pool slide that goes through the middle of a shark tank, AWESOME!

i know people are gonna call me gay for this, but...

theres a place right off the strip a few blocks called Suncoast. It was dirt cheap compared to the hotels right on the strip and it was soooooooooooo nice, and only a short walk/cab ride to the strip.

again, pricing all depends on how many rooms, but look into it... it was a REALLY nice place when i stayed there a few years ago, and it was mega affordable

The Rio is real nice and has very big rooms also it is owned by Harrahs
You can take a free bus from the Rio to any of Harrahs other casinos Caesars,Paris,Bally's,Flamingo, and Imperial Palace
Things you must do in Vegas #1 lunch at the stratospher (only lunch dinner is way to expensiee) www.StratosphereHotel.com #2 Paris http://www.harrahs.com/casinos/paris-las-vegas/hotel-casino/property-home.shtml and there are 100s more things to do
I'm going to book this morning so I'm gonna take a last minute look at the Rio before making the final decision. Lunch at the stratoshpere is a definite. People however say to NOT stay there so I'll follow that advice.

Is that a strip w/ vendors or something?

Follow Adrians advice...don't share a room!!!
x 2

We stayed at Treasure Island. Really nice place and being right in the middle of the strip was a huge plus. The beds where also the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in as well. We spent most of our time towards the south of our hotel. There really is so much to do out there is mind blowing. Even if your not a big drinker or gambler your still in for a great time. FYI bars are open until 4 and you can carry drinks on the street . The place really doesn't die down until well after 5 am, however if you wanna see the place dead go walk the strip @ 9 am, no one it out lol.
My biggest advice is to try and see some shows while your there. We didn't get the chance to and wish we had. I'd also recommend doing the Eiffel Tower experience @ night when the Bellagio is putting on it's fountain show. It's a pretty cool view from up top not only seeing the fountains, but also being able to see the entire city.

Either way just enjoy yourself and take in the atmosphere. Try and get into all of the hotels and just see what attractions they have in each one. That's how we found the Flamingo's @ The Flamingo along w/ the Lions @ the MGM. The shoping center @ the Ceaser is also really cool to just walk through.
BTW I wouldn't recommend staying @ one of the hotel's on the southern end of the strip due to how much walking you'd have to do to see everything. From Treasure Island to The Luxor is 2.2 miles one way  Each day I walked 5+ miles during the day and prob another 2-3 each night

Cool info Adrian :thumb:

I just booked our trip just now. It was between Treasure Island & The signature at MGM. I went w/ the Signature for the money & reviews. It's located behind the strip so while its not ON it, it's not miles away like the Luxor or other spots.

Had to book fast too, spots were filling in fast!
